Hi, I'm Jireh Calo, a 22-year old Filipina singer & keyboardist, arranger, and composer born and raised in Manila, Philippines, currently studying in Boston. It's been more than two years since I left my home country to pursue my passion and take up Contemporary Writing & Production at the Berklee College of Music. I am now on my last year at Berklee, hoping to graduate by May 2018.
Living in the US away from family, studying at Berklee, and paving my own path has been an incredible walk of faith. It's not easy but that challenges have definitely pushed me to grow as a person and as an artist. I've come this far and am not about to give up! Through the kind and generous help of people who felt it in their heart to give, I've been able to complete 5 semesters at Berklee, am currently taking my 6th and have only 1 more semester to go!
I started this campaign in March 2017 and I can't thank enough everyone who made it possible for me to get back to school this summer. I still have one more semester to go and so if it is in your heart to give, in whatever capacity, know that you are doing so much more than helping me finishing school. I intend to live my life not just as an artist or a successful musician, but as somebody who uses their gifts to serve others. That has been the fire in my heart that keeps me going whenever I feel like just giving up.
