John Brown Legacy Scholarship
Donation protected
John Brown tragically lost his life in car accident on December 28 on his way back from his parents home. In addition to his parents, Gale and Delores Brown, John is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Roberts)Brown and two daughters, Haley and Lexi; sister, Patsy (Kevin) Conley; brothers, Walt (Rhonda) Brown , Rick "Bones" (Aldrea) Brown.
After graduating from college and recieving his Master's from Central Michigan, John taught mathematics at Toledo Central Catholic and Mount Vernon High School.
In addition to teaching, John coached wrestling at both schools and was Head Coach at Mount Vernon High School for a total of 22 years. At a young age, wrestling became an integral part of his life and he was a two-time West Virginia State Champion. He was also the Director of Junior Olympics in Ohio which produced two national champions. In addition, he was named NWCA State Head Coach of the Year in the 2005-2006 season.
John was known for his sense of humor and dedication by his family, students, co-workers, and friends. Each and every day he impacted the lives of the people around him and worked to make sure that his positive attitude was always front and center.
In honor of him, we are asking for donations to help the family and his daughters Lexi and Haley with their continued education, as well as to create a scholarship fund for students who wish to pursue further education. John dedicated time and energy to help his students and wrestlers in all aspects of their lives, and to honor him, his family would love to help carry on this legacy and continue to help make a difference in the community.
Each and every donation will make a difference in helping his children and in awarding a scholarship(s) that we know will allow someone to make the most of their "DASH." It is important for John's family to always see how people impact others between the "dash" of a life and death date.
John made the most of his "dash" and dedicated everything he had to the people around him. Please donate, like, and share (your memories, too) to help his family continue to carryout his legacy.
Thank you and God Bless,
The Brown (and Melia) Family
