John Hudson Dilgen Bathroom Project

Thank you for your interest is creating an accessible bathroom and healing space for John Hudson.

This project came about for two reasons. First we are looking to purchase a Microsilk Tub for JH which allows debridement of his skin while he bathes.

Second, JH is in need a a larger bathroom which is accessible, as over the last few years as his disease has progressed, his mobility has become worse, as has his pain, wounds, infections and anemia. This has meant more pain meds, antibiotics, trips to Cincinnati Children's Hospital and transfusions.

Our hope is to find enough funds to build a new larger bathroom on our first floor, as his current bathroom is in the basement and requires two chair lifts for him to access.

Because this construction means knocking out our current kitchen, we need to blow out the back of the house, adding more expense to this project.

Luckily we have so far found a contractor who is working pro bono, Michael Daragjati. He has been a angel, as has an architect who is also donating his time.

 
We are hoping to have permits pulled in the next week and be ready to start construction in the next 1-2 weeks.

We are hoping to also reach out to plumbers, electricians, contractors with connections to lumbar, concrete, appliances and windows, in the hope he can find others willing to assist with either labor or materials.
