Help our friend beat cancer!

My (our) very best friend John has been fighting cancer for almost 8 months now.
And he's WINNING!
The tumors are shrinking and the chemo is working. He’s eating healthy and trying to exercise. John's going to beat cancer. Period.
But, honestly, John's also struggling....
John is battling constant pain and fatigue. I can see it in his face every time I see him. It breaks my fricken heart so see him this way.
Not surprisingly, John is not able to work as much as he used to. I'm amazed that he works at all, but he does. He soldiers on for the same reason we all would: he needs to take care of his family.
Cancer doesn't come with a money tree for the back yard. God, I wish it did!
He doesn't need this pressure right now, and after I saw him last week, I asked him to let his friends help with his basic expenses.
Do you know how John makes his living? I know some of you do, but most of you may not know that John is a full-time consultant for nonprofits. He only gets paid when he works - when he's out there speaking, training and consulting to organizations.
And you know what, he's awesome at it!
But since his diagnosis, John has had limited time and energy for work. We all would, right?
I once offered to join John at one of his chemo treatments.
"I'll sit with you and we'll talk until you're done," I said. John shook his head and assured me we would run out of things to talk about. His chemo visits can LAST 6 HOURS. Six. Hours.
I could go on and on, but you get my point. John needs our help.
This is what he needs:
To cover the shortfall of living expenses, he needs about $1,000 a month for the next 12 months (a humble ask, IMHO).
Next summer John will be on the mend and can increase his workload. And he'll have us to thank for it!
Just imagine the hugs! (John gives great hugs, as you may already know)
Let’s make sure our sweet friend has one less battle he has to fight on his own.
No, we can't take away John's cancer. I wish we could. But we can GIVE him money. And that's what he truly needs.
Please remember: any amount helps. Truly ANY AMOUNT. And if you can't give now, please know that John love you guys either way. Heck, I love you just considering and reading this fundraising letter.
Thank you!
