John Kampes Recovery Fund

John Kampes, Coach for 13U and 16U Maryland Legends Travel Baseball Teams, Coach for the Rising Sun High School Baseball Team and the Associated Executive Director for the Cecil County YMCA was critically injured in a car accident on May 7, 2016.   John was attempting to turn left on Hwy 274 in Rising Sun when his car was rear-ended and pushed into oncoming traffic causing him to be ejected from his vehicle.  John suffered three fractures to his neck and back, a fractured clavicle, dislocated shoulder, broken ribs, broken arm, broken leg and fractured knee.  He was flown to Christiana Care Trauma Center in Newark DE where he is  currently admitted in the ICU and they placed him in a medically induced coma.

John is a community leader who spends both his career and personal time working to better the lives of children throughout the Cecil County Community.  Through his work with the Maryland Legends, YMCA and Rising Sun High School Baseball Team, he has taught integrity, professionalism, teamwork and leadership to hundreds of children.   John spends every weekday, evening and weekend throughout the year working with kids to help them realize their potential.  John also has wife and two teenage son's at home.


John will be out of work for months while he heals and rehabilitates from his injuries.  Please help this community hero and his famliy with their overwhelming medical related expenses.  No donation is too small!
