The John Samples Recovery Fund

John Samples is a 16 year old football player and wrestler from Mechanicsburg High School who was in a serious roll-over car accident on April 15, 2016 thatleft him in a coma with a Traumatic Brain Injury. He was care flighted to Miami Valley Hospital where he spent 9 days in surgical ICU in critical condition and an additional 8 days in the trauma unit in serious condition. He was at OSU Dodd Hall for rehabilitation. He emerged from his coma after 34 days, but still has a long way to go on his recovery.  He was released from Dodd Hall on June 10.  He still needs outpatient rehabilitation, as well as 24 hour home care. This page has been created to help John's family with the increasing costs of medical expenses. It is anticipated that John will need aggressive therapy for, at least, another year, so the medical expenses will continue to accrue.
