Jose "Joey" Cotera Funeral Expense
Donation protected
One of my very best friends, José Cotera, tragically passed away on July 18, 2016 in a car accident in Vero Beach, Florida.
José was a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, UA student, band member and Bama fan who was taken from this Earth far too soon, at the age of 24.
José graduated from the University of Alabama in 2015. He was VERY proud of being part of the University of Alabama Million Dollar Band as an alto saxophone player. He was also an avid Alabama football fan.
After graduating, he decided to follow his father's footsteps and serve his country by joining the military. He had completed all the necessary steps to join the Army (including scoring the highest possible score on the ASVAB -- the military entry test) and was just waiting on a date to leave for basic training.
All who ever met José can attest to his kindness, respect for others, selflessness, and warm heart. He loved his family and friends, and we all loved him back! You can learn more about José by visiting the Facebook page created to honor and share memories about this amazing human being at https://facebook.com/josejoey.cotera
As José's friend, I have recently become aware of an immediate need. José's parents have not been able to fully cover his funeral and burial expenses, which exceeded $15,000, and they URGENTLY need our help. All funds will go directly to the family to cover the funeral and burial expensesand to buy his tombstone.
I beg all University of Alabama fans, current and past students, current and past MDB members, football players, faculty, and staff, along with friends and family of Jose and the Cotera family to help take care of one of our very own by donating to his family and sharing this link
No parent should have to worry about how to pay for their child's funeral while dealing with the loss of their beloved son or daughter -- he pain of losing a child is terrible enough. So, please, please, please help lighten the financial burden from this family's shoulders so that they can instead focus on healing their broken hearts.
All donations, no matter the amount, are appreciated and will help lift this burden from José's family; no gift is too small.
If you knew José and feel compelled by his story, or if you can relate to these parents' worst nightmare, I ask that you donate or share this link so that we can help our friend's family during this difficult time.
Thank you for taking the time to read and share. And as José would proudly say, Roll Tide!
