Journey of a Thousand Words recognises the importance of reading and writing in young lives. We understand that education is a key aspect in the lives of young adults and children and is essential for every day life. We strongly believe that books give hope to young minds and allow them to experience positivity when such a thing may seem hard to find. Journey of a Thousand Words recognises that children across the world do not have the same available access to adequate education.
My name is Maddy and I'm 19 years old from NSW, Australia. I have recently completed my studies at high school and now study a Bachelor of Psychology at University. I created Journey of a Thousand Words with hopes that young people in need would be able to feel the same sense of belonging and connection to books, that I feel myself. Books and stories hold such an important role in young minds, constantly challenging the way we think and feel about our environment. Books are the reason we have individuals creating miracles every day with their minds.
The reason I specifically chose children and young people in need around the world as my focus group is because I personally believe these children will benefit immensely from what the charity aims to achieve. It is no secret that around the world children and young people are suffering every day from the lack of funding and resources they are receiving. By gifting books to those in need we can allow for young minds to reach their full potential.
Funds gifted to Journey of a Thousand Words, allow us to reach our goals of providing books to children and young people in need across the world. The costs involved in shipping to various places across the world can be quite large. In order to reach those in need, funds and support are required.
Another way you can get involved is by joining our Facebook page "Journey of a Thousand Words" to find out more information about gifting books to those in need.
We thank you for allowing us to make a difference to those in need.
