Family Replacing Belongings


This is us.  He's a teacher with MS.  I am a full time psych major at UHD.  We have 6 children in all.  One in college at in Omaha.  Two in high school, two in grade school and one that goes to preschool who will be 3 soon.  And don't forget our lab puppy.

Our toddler said "Our house wanted to go swimming & got all WET!"  Hurricane Harvey hit us this weekend and flooded out the whole house. 

The kids lost most of their belonging, toddler lost all of her toys & boys.  All arts & crafts, etc. We will have to rebuild, find temporary housing so that school does not skip a beat for any of us!  Two cars got flooded, our Honda Pilot seats 8 and probably has some serious transmission problems, it had liability only.  We will need to replace kids' toys, books, and belongings.

We lost washer, dryer, refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, all furniture, etc.

Our flood policy only covers $20,000 in contents....

Our most urgent need is:

-reliable transportation for 5 kids!
-temporary housing for family of 7 & dogs. For 3-6 months. 3 bedroom, $1500-2000/mo.
-furniture for temporary housing if not already furnished...
-fall & winter clothes for all kids (not highly urgent, but will need warmer clothes as weather changes)
