SOSNicaragua Global

SOS Nicaragua Global es una iniciativa impulsada por la diáspora Nicaragüense organizada desde cualquiera que fuera su país de residencia. Aunque ya no vivamos en nuestro país, nuestro país si vive en nosotros y es ese amor por nuestra Madre Patria lo que impulsa nuestra lucha incansable por verla vivir en democracia, libertad y paz con justicia. Como auto convocados, trabajamos de la mano con estudiantes universitarios y campesinos, la punta de lanza de nuestra lucha. Nuestra misión es de convertirnos en plataforma para ser la voz de aquellos a quienes dentro de Nicaragua les intentan callar, y de ser catalizadores del cambio social que con tanta urgencia necesita nuestro país.

Desde el 19 de abril, el pueblo de Nicaragua se ha tomado las calles en protesta contra el ilegítimo y opresivo régimen dictatorial de Daniel Ortega y su esposa Rosario Murillo, exigiendo democracia y justicia para vivir en paz. Esta lucha cívica y pacífica, desarrollada de manera constante e incansable, ha sido reprimida de manera feróz y letal por parte de las fuerzas irregulares paramilitares afines al Régimen y la Policía Nacional, que disparan con armas de fuego y francotiradores.

Como SOS Nicaragua Global nos hemos unido a la “Asociación Médica Nicaragüense”, una entidad constituida legalmente en Nicaragua y que reúne a varias organizaciones médicas. Este proyecto pretende proveer ayuda humanitaria de emergencia al pueblo nicaragüense, que vive una urgente necesidad de medicinas, atención médica de calidad y alimento. Nos hemos auto convocado para recaudar fondos que serán administrados por la Asociación Médica Nicaragüense y utilizados de manera transparente en apoyo de las necesidades básicas de quienes llevan adelante esta lucha cívica y sus familias. Su aporte es fundamental para garantizar esta tarea humanitaria imprescindible, que ayude a aliviar, aunque sea en parte, las necesidades y el sufrimiento de las víctimas que se multiplican día con día.

SOS Nicaragua Global is an initiative promoted by the organized Nicaraguan diaspora all around the world. Although we no longer live in our country, our country lives within us and this love for our motherland is what drives our tireless fight towards seeing a democratic and free Nicaragua. We work hand in hand with our youth and our farmworkers, the tip of the sword of our just cause. With that purpose in mind, we work to achieve our mission of becoming a voice for those who are being silenced, and being catalysts of the social change that our country so urgently needs.

Our Nation is at a historic crossroads. Since April 19th, the Nicaraguan people took to the streets en masse to protest against the illegitimate, oppressive Ortega-Murillo dictatorship, demanding democracy and justice to live in real peace. This fight has been relentless and it has come at a great cost. Nicaraguans have been indiscriminately repressed by the regime´s paramilitary forces and the National Police, who shoot to kill with firearms and snipers under Ortega’s orders.

SOS Nicaragua Global has partnered with the Nicaraguan Medical Association, a legally constituted entity in Nicaragua which brings together several medical organizations. This project is intended to provide emergency humanitarian assistance to the Nicaraguan people who are in urgent need of medicine, appropriate medical attention and food. We work on raising funds that will be funneled exclusively by the Asociación Médica Nicaragüense (Nicaraguan Medical Association) and used transparently in support of those who are leading this nonviolent fight and assist the families of our fallen heroes. Your donations are key to ensuring that this movement, our last best chance at true freedom, endures and prospers in the face of unyielding tyranny.
