Julius Jones was wrongfully convicted in 2002 for murder and sentenced to death. He has spent 19 years behind bars fighting this injustice. If you have not heard of his story I urge you to watch "The Last Defense" on the ABC app. You can also read his case overview here: http://justiceforjulius.com/case-overview/ This can happen to any of us. This could be your son or daughter sitting on death row for decades hoping that the truth comes out before it is too late. An innocent man sitting in a small, cold dark cell not being able to live his dreams, not being able to have any physical contact with anyone let alone able to feel the embrace of those who love him. It is a struggle to get through each day; it is a lonely and depressing existence. Life just stops at 19 and yet the world around him keeps turning. Almost 20 years later and he is still that 19 year old boy. Imagine the everyday struggles of the family; a loving mother having her youngest son taken from her by the State all because of lies and not knowing if today will be the last day she will ever hear her son's voice, a father not getting to watch his son become a man and being give him parenting advice. I am doing this not only for Julius, but for his family as well. 19 years of phone calls and commissary adds up. All donations will go toward those phone calls as well as anything else Julius needs to get through these times. I want to help take the stress off of all of them. The cost of all of these items are raised frequently. In the 19 years that adds up to 72,000+. When holiday and summer packages come around I will buying those for him. Some may think that sending him money directly will give him the money for these packages, but I get the order form and I have to purchase everything, an inmate cannot do it and only one package is allowed per inmate. I will also buy whatever magazine he requests, again not something an inmate can do themselves. We want to thank everyone who donated. Please know that every dime is appreciated. God Bless
