Father shot after being robbed

Pedro Maldonado, a loving husband, father of 4 boys, and small business owner was shot 6 times on September 23rd, 2016.  When arriving at his home close to midnight from work, he was robbed at gun point.  The robber took his wallet & all the cash he worked hard for that Friday.  Mr. Maldonado is the sole wage earner for his family & needed that money to pay upcoming bills. He ran after the male, African-American robber & an off-duty officer happened to be there at the time.

The off-duty officer shot him, the victim of this horrible tragedy, 6 times, leaving him in critical condition in the ICU Unit. Instead of shooting at the robber, the officer, who did not identify himself or ask Mr. Maldonado to stop, shot him and the robber fled. The off-duty police officer has not tried to apologize or been reprimanded. Instead, the victim is being viewed as the "bad person.”  Justice needs to be served. This family is going through a hard time. The boys’ father is not going to be able to work or be released anytime soon from the hospital. His children need all the help they can get.
