Justin's Olympic Hopes Regatta

My name is Justin Dobson and I am a flatwater sprint kayaker from the small town of Carleton Place, Ontario. I started kayaking at the Carleton Place Canoe Club when I was 14 years old, and it has been my passion ever since.  With the great leadership of my coaches and peers I have been able to progress through sport to the National and International level.   My goal is to become the fastest kayaker I can possibly be, while pushing boundaries on the international scene and representing my country well.

I recently competed at the Canadian National Championships in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and based on my results at this event I have been selected to represent Team Canada at the Olympic Hopes regatta in Szeged, Hungary later this month (September 19th-29th).  This competition is a stepping stone on the path to reaching my long term goals of competing at the Junior World Championships in 2017, and eventually at the biggest competition of all, the Olympic Games.

In order to represent Canada in this competition I will need to self-fund this event. Your contribution will help offset the cost of my first overseas racing experience, which includes:

1) Flights
2) Accommodations
3) Meals
4) Daily transportation
5) Equipment and uniforms
