Dear Friends and everyone who shared and viewed this campaign.
With a heavy heart, I have to share with you that our Dear Emil lost the battle to cancer.
He was just 43 years old...
As strong and tough as he was, he could not beat this monster...
He will be forever in our hearts as a Great Human Being who cared more about others than himself.
As I am writing this update, it is still hard to beleive he is gone.. If we only had a chance to spent more time with him....
Rest in Peace, Emil!
Please contribute to Emil's fund to help his family pay for accrued medical expenses and burial costs.
Your support means a lot to Emil's family as they are going through a very hard time.
Sincerely,
Marina.

From Emil's Brother, Rufat Israfilbek:
Dear family and friends.
With a heavy heart I regret to inform you that after 3 long years of fight with cancer Emil passed away.
I want to thank everyone for incredible support and generosity you have all responded with. For those who don't know, Emil spent last few weeks of his life in highly spiritual place in a middle of Brazil in small town of Abadiãnia. We came here between his traditional medical treatment he was receiving at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Town of Abadiãnia is being visited by tens of thousands every year from people seeking help from deadly diseases to people who're looking for spiritual energy. I would like to thank each and every doctor, nurse, caregiver, and volunteer that Emil has encountered in the past three years. Medical personnel from Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland to Hospital Evangélico Goiano in Anápolis, Brazil where Emil was treated were UNBELIEVABLE. They all tried so hard to save Emil's life.
Emil had a tendency to attract people like magnet with his smile and kindness. Everywhere he went he'd instantly make friends.
I had a pleasure working together with my brother in the Walter Reed National Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland where he worked for 8 years before he was diagnosed. He stopped working there almost three years ago, but NOT A SINGLE DAY passed without someone asking me about his condition and progress of his treatment. Chances of surviving this terrible type of cancer are slim to none. Emil knew how deadly his illness was but he never complained or questioned his destiny. Emil fought very bravely like a fighter he was, often joking about his disease.
Emil, you will forever be missed by everyone who has ever met you.
You can take a break now brother, this fight is over. We'll all meet again when our time comes. Rest in peace and God bless your soul.
Emil "Baku" Israfilbek leaves behind his father, mother, brother, 8 year old son Nelson, countless friends and relatives.
