Montanas liver transplant journey

Montana was diagnosed with bilary atresia a life threatening infant liver disease when she was 6weeks old which the bile ducts become blocked or absent at birth. From 6weeks old its been full time care, numerous medications, trips/ stays at the children's hospital. Montana was born 4 april 2014 everything seemed normal besides being jaundice but i was advised it would clear but she had pale stools which i thought was normal as im a first time mum and severe itchiness. I went and saw two of my local gps and was sent home with cream for her itchiness but it hadnt cleared so i took her to another gp and as i walked into his office first thing he said with a worried pale face was "she is yellow, how old is she?" i told him 6 weeks then he sent me straight to the children's hospital. Reality hit me when tests of her biopsy had came back she has biliary atresia. I know now why the gps face went pale . Montana then went in for a 5hr operation called the kassi procedure which involes taking a piece of her small intestine and connecting it up to her liver so the bile will flow from her liver but has only 60%success rate if done within 60 days after birth. Montana was 8weeks but unfortunately it failed and Montana is in need of a new liver and her failing liver has caused her cholesterol levels to raise very high which can cause her to go into cardiac arrest. So a liver is needed sooner. Funds donated will go towards montanas care and being a single mum im unable to return back to work. Im trying to put awareness out there about biliary atresia as it is a condition that not all gps are aware of. Im hoping one day they will find a cause and a cure for this disese to help save other infants like my little girl that affects 1 out of 15000 born.
