1 team, 2 weeks, 1 community centre

Donation protected
This October a team of 8 people from all parts of Northern Ireland is travelling to Malawi to build a vocational training centre at Tilinanu Orphanage, in the country's capital Lilongwe.

This centre will provide facilities for the local community and the orphanage to undertake various courses such as computer training, tailoring and joinery.

We are two local girls from County Down who will be part of this team.  We're Karen and Julie, and we work for a Bangor company, Denman, who has supported charitable work in Malawi for many years, but this is the first time any of their employees will be actually volunteering in the country.

Better known for our sales and marketing skills in the hair and beauty industry, we will be hanging up our office attire in exchange for something better suited on a building site for two weeks. In that time, we will work alongside the other team members to lay bricks, cement walls and construct the centre (whilst trying to remain effortlessly glamorous in tool belts.....!).

The aim of this page is to raise funds to take part in this project and help further the amazing work that has been done over the years in Malawi to build an effective infrastructure for the community that will serve to create skills and livelihoods for generations to come.

We very much appreciate your support,
Love,
Karen & Julie x
