Kathleen is giving it 90!

Donation protected
Kathleen Lynch is turning 90 on the 1st May 2020!

Unfortunately due to the current pandemic, Kathleen can no longer celebrate by spending time with her family and friends. Kathleen's birthday wishes are to encourage people to help her raise funds for two charities close to her heart - Age Action and Irish Red Cross

Age Action has launched a COVID-19 Hardship Fund in conjunction with the Irish Red Cross to respond to the immediate needs of older people in vulnerable situations experiencing additional hardship as a result of the COVID-19 health crisis.  Irish Red Cross are also supporting the Front Line Staff accessing needs in the Hospitals across Ireland.

Kathleen and her husband Donnie (94) have been isolating since early March in their home in Sandylane, Blackrock, County Louth.

To encourage people to donate, Kathleen will dance in the garden for a total of 90 minutes (throughout the day) on her birthday May 1st. With the support and encouragement of her husband Donnie.

Kathleen & Donnie Backstory:
Kathleen and Donnie married on the 5th August 1952 in Blackrock Chapel, County Louth.
They have a loving family of 4 children, 13 grand children and 14 great grand children, all of whom think the world of them.

Unfortunately in August last year shortly after their 68th Wedding Anniversary, they suffered a horrific attack at their doorstep. Together they showed tremendous courage and strength to overcome this.
During this time, they insist the love and support they received from family, friends and community gave them the determination to return to their much loved home in Sandy Lane. A remarkable feat, for a couple of their age.
For Kathleen, this hit home that the time spent with loved ones, is the most valuable.  Something that the Covid 19 has robbed them of.  As with all families, particularly the elderly and most vulnerable throughout the world.
Therefore as witness to the generosity they received when they were in need, Kathleen would now like to encourage people to help her by supporting and donating whatever you can to these worthwhile charities.

Let's Help Kathleen celebrate her 90th year by Dancing and Donating!

Lots of little ripples make waves.

Keep Dancing!

Go raibh maith agat!

Irish Red Cross and Age Action have actively joined together on the Covid Hardship fund.  As agreed with the two charities, the money raised will be withdrawn by Age Action and they will look after the distribution of funds.  Caroline O'Connell (head of fundraising at Age Action) has appointed Mary Hamoodi, head of Finance at Age Action as a beneficiary for this fundraiser.
