Kathy Woods medical expenses

Kathy had a stomach bug on September 18 that she just didn't seem to bounce back from. She and Susan went to a yard sale on Saturday the 24th and she felt like something just wasn't right. That afternoon she went to Park Ridge ER and they began running tests. She was initially treated for a small area of pneumonia but was very anemic and after further tests she was diagnosed with leukemia. While at Park Ridge she needed two units of blood and had further tests that show her subtype of leukemia. This has been a difficult diagnosis after losing her Mother a little over a year ago to cancer. But with prayers, good friends and a positive attitude we know healing will be easier.
Things have moved quickly since she left Park Ridge on the 26th. She is now at St. Joseph's on the Oncology floor and has had her "Starboard" (what we are calling the port) put in and three days of chemo and two more units of blood. The many phone calls, texts, cards and gifts have made her feel loved and cared for. Please continue with your prayers and good thoughts. At this time, she is compromised and we are being very careful with germs. Anyone with a cold or even exposed to someone sick should not come see her.
"But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10.
As Kathy's diagnosis has sunk in and her treatment and medication regimen has begun we are getting a better idea of what Kathy is going to need over the course of her treatment. Prayers, good friends and a positive attitude are going to win the battle but financial support is also going to be needed! If you can help in any manner it will be one less concern for Kathy.
