Kathy Drysdale Battles Cancer
Donation protected
Bellefonte Area High School's Senior Institute Class is raising money for Bellefonte resident Kathy Drysdale, who is battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma for the second time in two years. After spending the majority of 2015 undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, Kathy received word that she was cancer-free in November of 2015. However, her symptoms returned during the Spring of 2016. To treat the return of the cancer, Kathy spent 22 days at Penn State Hershey and received 6 intense days of chemo and a stem cell transplant. She will continue to receive targeted chemotherapy at Penn State Hershey throughout 2017 to beat this cancer!
Kathy's son, Dereck Lively II, is a seventh grader at Bellefonte Middle School. As a single mother, Kathy will use the money from Senior Institute's charity events to compensate for lost time at work and to help with expenses incurred from her battle with cancer.
