Kayla Watts Medical Expenses Fund

This beautiful Angel is my baby girl. Her name is Kayla Nicole Watts. She is loved and  adored by many, because she has a kind heart and is a happy spirit. She's my 23 year old baby girl, my shadow, my life.
She loves music, laughing, dancing, her friends, her dog, her family, the people she holds close in her heart. Like a fairy sprite, it would be normal to see her singing and dancing spontaneously with that beautiful smile and sparkling eyes! SHE LIGHTS UP A ROOM when she enters!

But on Sept. 16th, 2016, she was a passenger on a motorcycle that was hit by a car, sending her flying into the air, onto the street, half a block, and into a pole. My beautiful baby lost her helmet in all this impact. Her body suffered multiple injuries.

My Kayla nearly lost her life. An incredibly skilled surgeon was able to save her leg, by God's grace.
Kayla was on Life support and spent 22 days in the ICU.
To date she has had six (6) go rounds in surgery.
She has severe head trauma. Traumatic brain injury. She suffered brain swelling, bleeding, she had fractured sternum. bruised lung, lacerated artery and leg, multiple cuts, road rash/rips to face, shoulders, torso, chest, private area, arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet. Both knees were damaged. Broken femur, requiring a cage, then the instillation of a titanium rod. She has missing bone. She has missing body tissue. She has had tissue that had to be removed due to death of tissue. She has had to have grafting surgeries performed. Several other issues that come with these injuries and challenges: fever, infection.
She has a trach now and feeding tube installed and other devices.

Through these days, we don't lose HOPE. I am her mother.  Kayla calls me MAJAH.  As people keep asking how is she my response has and always is BETTER EVERY DAY.
Some days we see it, some days we don't.

Since day one, we have been told she may not improve. Since day one, I have not stopped praying, I have not stopped asking for prayer, I have not stopped asking people to ask others for prayer. The whole world it seems is asking for prayer for these two kids. (Her boyfriend -the motorcylce driver- also suffered multiple injuries. A gofundme page has been established for him as well. Their rooms coincidentally were side by side in the ICU for those 22 days.)

We have seen the dark and glimpsed the light. I hold to HOPE and I KNOW in my heart that KAYLA will fight to get back to MAJAH and everyone. She has shown improvements that are nothing short of miraculous!

Kayla will need neuro rehabiliation as the next step. In West Virginia where we live, sadly there are NO places to offer such things. Only nursing homes. THAT is not what Kayla needs. So we have to travel out of state to get the help that will bring KAYLA back to us. I don't know how we will make this happen, but it will happen. THROUGH Prayer and good people, the will is strong. Kayla will be BETTER EVERY DAY.
As I write this, it is day 27 in the hospital. She is fighting. I cannot give up. I will not give up.

The grafting will take 3 to 5 days to heal they say. The move to a neuro facility can take place then.

If your heart is moved to help our Kayla in any way, I pray that you and your family will be eternally blessed ten times over.  I and my family thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

May we all stretch ourselves, just like Kayla is working hard to be
                          BETTER          EVERY          DAY

Thank you for helping our beautiful Kayla. Look at those eyes. Thank you so much.
