Hello Fans of J Hot Fish!!

My name is KC Edwards. Some may even affectionaly call me J.  My family and I founded J Hot Fish in March 2015,

Our current location is in the Olde Towne East Community in Columbus, Ohio, as a Pop up restaurant.

Many of you may already know our story however if you don’t please let me share more about J Hot Fish. The J Hot fish story started over 10 years ago with an annual family fish fry. We called it “Fun in the Sun”. I am a native of this area.

We were founded on two main principals. Serve great fish while bringing the community together and additionally train and employ people that require a second chance to be gainfully employed to break the cycle of getting off public assistance or a spotted background.

This project has made life better for the locals.

After twenty months of operations we're now requesting your HELP!

J Hot Fish serves about 800 patrons per week, most of whom are located in our community looking to grab a meal and recharge before heading back to work, or some rest at home from cooking. We also serve a steady flow of New customers that what to know what they hype is about with J Hot Fish. They quickly realize there is no hype just great food.

One of our major highlights in 2015 is that we were privileged with feeding underserved citizens of Columbus during the Thanksgiving holiday in 2015 as well throughout our entire existence. We have also contributed to many non profit community organizations. WE CARE!

Our staff is taught and charged with creating an exceptional customer experience. Through their training and new found skills they become highly sought after candidates for higher paying careers. This here is the “why” J Hot Fish started.

J Hot Fish purchases all its food and supplies locally.

Most months J Jot Fish generates the revenue for its expenses (including salaries, groceries, rent, and other operating expenses), however as a new business there in not quite enough money to cover the monthly expenses, however GOD continues to provide. In recent months with the addition of new Fried Chicken our fish sales dropped, however it’s since recovered.  We have streamlined several of our operational processes and right sized headcount and to include strategic purchasing to help meet expenses.

Most business would solve this with a revolving line of credit to keep the doors open when things are lean. We have not had to seek this option nor is it our desire. Our major supplier and landlord has been more than patient through the past 3 months, however this is a business and everyone must make money to meet their responsibilities.  Coupled with the fact our business model no longer matches those of the incubator food hub.

This means that we will lose a prime location and very strong following as we have nearly 9,000 fans on Facebook with nearly 80,000 video view of raving reviews. We were voted and highly regarded the BEST of the BEST in Columbus, Ohio.

Will you consider helping us continue to provide a safe family friendly haven for our community and the locals?

We will not sugar coat our situation. Its literally desperate.

When we opened J HOT FISH there weren't many highly quality fried fish restaurants in Columbus.

We are desperate need, and in the past twenty months we have never asked for a help, via crowd funding which initially was in the game plan to take J Hot Fish mobile; however with consistent growth and expansions in our menu and now a delivery service being offered we never required help. As of today; We need to raise $45,000.

As a family, we've poured our hearts and our life savings into J JOT FISH with one goal in mind… serve our community and make a difference.

We believe that J HOT FISH will maintain its own, and make ends meet however we won't turn down a reality show that would be willing to come in and make a difference!
