Keep Kin Cymru Fighting for Carers
Donation protected
Kin Cymru is a small Welsh charity which provides advice and support to families with children with disabilities and special needs. In the past 2 years it has run a DLA for Children project , assisting parents to deal with the DLA claim process and where necessary assisting with Mandatory Reconsiderations and appeals, including representation. The entire project has been run by volunteers and has been very successful in helping parents/carers access the benefits they need to support their children.
Kin Cymru has been able to run its much needed DLA for Children project because it has been mentored by the local Law Firm T.A. Law which has provided it with office space , training, IT and stationery and supervision from it's Welfare benefit specialists. Sadly, T.A. Law is being forced to close having become yet another victim of the Legal Aid Cuts of 2013.
From June 2019 Kin Cymru must stand on its own two feet. Because of the dedication of its volunteers Kin Cymru could feasibly run on quite a modest amount and is applying for grants to try and facilitate this. At present however it needs the funds to rent premises to work from and cover day to day volunteer expenses.
Any donations will be put to very good use ensuring that children with disabilities/special needs get the advice and support they need.
Keep Welfare Benefits Advice Alive - please donate whatever you can afford to keep this vital service running.
