Heart Problems n Lost Employment
Donation protected
My name is Jim Thomas. I am 42 years old and in Hudson Illinois with my girlfriend Teresa and her daughter Kendra. I have a family history of cardiac issues so it wasn’t a surprise when my health started to decline. Things got so bad I couldn't work a regular job. I took a home job to keep money coming in but then Teresa lost hers.
About a month ago, I wound up in the ER. My heart has 2 types of arrhythmia and it was dire enough to have a pacemaker and an internal defibrillator put in immediately. When I got out of the hospital, I was informed that the company I worked for was terminating my contract.
With neither one of us eligible for unemployment, we have fallen behind on house payments, utilities, and other expenses. Kendra also has major health issues. We’ve been depending on help from family for bills and treatment for her. We’ve maxed loans, and have made deals to put off payments for utilities to try covering expenses. At my last appointment, my doctor suggested I apply for disability. While I wait for a decision [4-6 months] I cannot seek employment. We have no options for assistance. We are so far behind we're getting shut off notices, the bank is getting ready to start foreclosure proceedings, and we just can't seem to catch a break.
If you find you have some funds to contribute to my family, we’d be very grateful. Any amount is welcome and gets us one step closer to having our heads above water again.
Thank you for considering a contribution to help out a family in need.
