Keep Madison's Cafe Open

We were shocked and saddened as a community today to see the following post from Nicole McCoomb, Owner of Madison's Cafe:

"This is a very hard post form to have to write.
Sean and I have put our complete hearts and souls into our cafe for many, many reasons. Unfortunately, the time has come for us to have to close our doors at this location.
There are a lot of factors involved. Lack of parking, our lease is up a the end of December, and truly our over head is way too much.
We know that we have not failed. We have changed lives for our employees, watched them evolve and learn so much. We have great food, awesome staff and our concept is wonderful.
Our hope is that people have seen what we have done and will hopefully see that they can follow suit.
The special needs community needs more places like ours.
We would love to be able to relocate, expand, hire more employees and eventually turn the the cafe into a teaching cafe.
But, we can't do that on our own.
South Berwick is such a great community and everyone has been so supportive of us and our mission. We don't even know how to thank everyone.
We as a family, are devastated to have to announce this.
Winning Employer of the Year last year being open only 6 months was such an empowering and very unexpected award for us last year.
The many stories and articles written about us and especially a huge thank you to Lee Goldberg at Channel 6 News for coming in last year and putting together an amazing segment for us. And putting together a wonderful 30 sec commercial that has aired since the first Patriots game in 2017.
Our last day right now is gong to be November 30th. We really want to hold on and be here for Home For The Holidays.
From the bottom of our hearts..... we thank u all....."

Madison's has already made such an amazing impact:
From Foster's Daily Democrat
From Newscenter Maine
Foodie Froomkin Visits
Feb 2018 Issue of Neighbors of the Kennebunks

We all want to see Madison's succeed and continue on for generations. If we come together as a community we can make it happen.
The first step is to help relieve the financial burden, to keep Madison’s open and alive so that they can focus on the next steps for them to stay there long term. We need to make sure they get the support of this community in business. We want to do more than that to ensure Madison's stays around for us, our children, grandchildren and generations to come, to provide a place where all are welcome!
