Kenny Stovall (The Stove)

Many of you know that I don’t Facebook a lot nor have I ever started a Go Fund Me account, but I’m trying to help my friend Kenneth Stovall aka Kenny Stovall aka THE STOVE. I met Kenny when I moved to Greensboro the early 80’s. He was one of the first people that I met. Kenny would give me money to get junk food because I hated the school food, and my parents wouldn’t support my junk food habit. I drank my first Schultz Malt Liquor with him. Kenny laughed like hell when I ordered a chicken sandwich, and the whole piece of chicken, bones and all, came out in between two pieces of white bread. I’m from Stone Mountain and had no idea that you got a complete chicken breast with bones in between two pieces of white bread.! Welcome to Greensboro! I played
football with Kenny by my side, but I hated practice when I had to line up against him. Hitting Kenny was like hitting a “STOVE”! Then “The Stove” was born! Recently, I learned about some medical issues that “The Stove” has been going through, and I want to share it with all of you. On April 12, 2019, Kenny went to the doctor because he was having a difficult time walking . The doctor found a knot in his lymph node in his groin area. They removed the lymph node and the knot and have determined it was not cancer. Thank God! Now he is having complications because the fluid that should be going through the lymphatic tissue is building up in his legs. He is now wearing a drain bag to catch the fluid and having to keep his legs elevated to try to help with the swelling. The next step is to try and flush his legs with leg dye and hope and pray the scar tissue will shrink back to its original size. This has been a very slow process, and Kenny is unable to work at this time. Kenny is a truck driver, and you can’t get in and out of a truck with a bag attached, legs swollen, and having to use a walker to help him get around. With all this being said, I’m calling out to all my friends, Greene Taliaferro Comprehensive High School Classmates, and fellow Tigers. Let’s help Kenny Stovall (The Stove) get through this difficult time.
