Start Up Costs

Kenny’s Corner, Inc. is committed to opening doors and empowering young adults ages 18-24 in Marion, Monongalia, Harrison, Taylor, and Preston Counties in West Virginia who are at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness to use provided resources to become independent, self-sufficient citizens of their community.  At Kenny’s Corner, Inc., it is our belief that all people should be treated with compassion and dignity, regardless of their situation, and that when one is given the appropriate resources and tools, people become more hopeful and empowered, often resulting in improving the quality of their lives.  Kenny’s Corner’s programs and services will work to empower this underserved, often forgotten population by offering a safe atmosphere while providing all people with compassion and dignity.  Its clients will be provided with supportive service and guidance while being equipped with the tools necessary to break out of the cycle of homelessness, thus acquiring and maintaining safe stable housing, obtaining gainful employment, and experiencing independence and self-sufficiency.  Kenny’s Corner’s programs will assist clients in areas such as life plan development, educational assistance, employment exploration and acquisition, and obtaining stable affordable housing.  Clients will be provided with a safe space in which they have access to basic needs such as food, shelter, basic health care and referral, mental health services, and case management while they learn and are supported in areas such as life skills, job acquisition skills and training, pursuit of education, goal setting, and economic and financial literacy/responsibility.  While obtaining this support, clients will in turn participate in volunteer opportunities so that they may give back to their community.  With the tools and resources provided to them, these young adults can finally feel empowered to pursue and experience possibilities of a brighter, more hopeful future.
