Kensley's Future
Spende geschützt
At the beginning of July 2016, Kiara Scott and Kyle Slaughter found out they were pregnant. Like any first time mother-to-be, Kiara felt that she was not ready for a baby. As she found out they were having a baby girl, excitement build in her mind for the life she planned out for their daughter. Dance school, gymnastics, and modeling were just a few things she imagined for her daughter.
Kiara started to watch what she was putting into her body. She ate the healthiest selection of food, she was "non-GMO and organic crazy." She spent countless hours googling everything she can to make her body healthy for the growing baby.
By the baby shower on February 4, 2017, Kiara was overwhelmed with the love and support from family and friends. Concluding the unwrapping of gifts, she received the most unexpected gift of all, her best friend and father-to-be of their unborn child got down on one knee and proposed. Kiara happily said "yes" and tears of joy filled the room. Life was looking positive and she had everything she could have ever asked for.
After almost two days of labor, Kiara gave birth naturally on March 15, 2017 at 5:34am to a beautiful baby girl. Kensley Ayanna Slaughter has arrived. Kiara noticed something after holding Kensley for the first time. Kensley's eyes appear swollen and there was a sizable lump under her left eye. Immediately, Kiara asked the nurses and doctors about what she had noticed. Everyone told her it would subside and that there was nothing to worry about because it happens often during delivery. Kiara pressed on because she wanted Kensley to see her mother and father when she opens her eyes .
The next day, Kiara and Kyle were hit with the heartbreaking news. "We didn't find any," the doctors told them. Kiara's heart sank and her fiancé broke down. This moment pulled them closer together. Kensley has a rare genetic disorder called anophthalmia--born without eye(s). As heartbreaking as this was to accept, Kensley's parents became stronger knowing that their guidance for their daughter was important. Kiara's supportive mother was there every step of the way.
Kiara will see to it that her daughter will live a normal life and surpass all limitations and expectations. Kiara will be her daughter's eyes so she may always find her way.
Kensley would need help with medical expenses such as:
Surgery, prosthetic eyes, socket expansion, genetic testing, etc...Hopefully, this fund would make things easier for Kensley to recieve prosthetic eyes.
