Kiah's New Beginning
Donation protected
**Update: I can't believe we surpassed our original goal! I never expected that, and we are so, so grateful. As of yesterday, Kiah tested positive for heartworms, and unfortunately that will be expensive to treat. Anything additional that we raise will go to the care of all our other CHS animals.
Kiah has been through more than any dog should. She was wandering the roads for 2 weeks before a kind soul picked her up. Cherokee County Humane Society took her on as a rescue when an owner couldn't be located. By the time we got her, we found some terrible things. Her teeth were filed down, she had clearly been overbred, and she was pregnant. We took her to a vet and found out that she had been shot at one point and that all the puppies in her belly had been dead for several days. The emergency c-section to remove the puppies saved her life. We've named her Kiah, which means "new beginning," and that's what we are going to give her. Please help us pay for her vet bills so we can find her a new, loving, forever home.
