Kids Helping Boone First Responders
Donation protected
We want to support our Boone County First Responder Heroes after the heartbreaking loss of their brother-in-arms, Deputy Jacob Pickett. All of us were extraordinarily touched by his ultimate sacrifice for us, and by the community response and support for his Family and fellow First Responders. The funeral procession with Heroes from Indiana and all around this Great Country who came to pay their respects―with hands over hearts, our mouths fell open, only to taste our falling tears.
Deputy Pickett's First Responder Family in Boone County received a ton of support the week after his death. Our lives move on, but their grief remains even though they choose to continuously, selflessly Serve and Protect us! We must help.
Our Fundraiser: A grassroots campaign started by Central Indiana Kids , inspired by the 6-year old Magnificent Malachi Fronczak from Howard County, and his lemonade! He raised the adult-level sum of $7,000 for the Pickett family. Then the Brownsburg High School Interact and Brownsburg Rotary Clubs joined the cause. We want to take the torch from Malachi and run with it―to supply lunch to our dedicated servants in Boone County, once a month for the next several months, at least.
And lunch for ALL Boone County First Responders and Staff, including the K9 officers! Brik misses his partner, and our Dog Officers are as courageous and heroic as their human counterparts. Special thanks to Christy at Three Dog Bakery in Zionsville for her help with the canine delicacies!
And every single penny will go to feed our First Responder Heroes―thanks to generously volunteered legal and financial oversight.* All adult time is volunteered with no administration cost. We are just the curators of the vision and generosity of the Phenomenal Kids and Students who started this Campaign!
Thanks to Dawson's Too in Brownsburg for helping with the food―Tony Hill of Dawson's has a servant's heart. We also aim to supply each meal with a personal note from thankful kids and adults alike, so please contribute! We will print out personal comments left on this site, or you can email your notes to Jeffery (see address below), or snail mail/hand deliver notes to any of the businesses listed above or below.
We will need $2,500 for 4 months of meals for our Heroes. When we multiply that number, we can continue to serve and support our Boone County First Responders for months to come! And in the process, lessen their grief a bit, but surely let them know they are continuously Loved and Respected by our awesome communities in Central Indiana and all around this Great Nation!
In an effort to prevent administrative costs, donations made through this website are not tax deductible. If you have questions about tax deductibility or would like to make a tax deductible contribution, please contact Jeffery Earl at [email redacted].
*Financial oversight provided by Donovan CPA & Advisors in Avon. Banking services and fund administration provided by Hendricks County Bank & Trust. Legal oversight provided by Jeffery A. Earl, Attorney-At-Law in Danville. All professional services provided without charge.
