Tragedy struck the family of Jason Holmes 39yrs of age, in Sterling Heights Michigan 26 February 2018. While working on a demolition site in a 12 ft. ditch, the unstable walls collapsed and buried himself alive. After nearly a 3hr rescue mission from various fire fighters throughout the area his dead body was recovered. Leaving his soul mate of 10yrs, Brenda Wend and their two children ages 2 & 5 without a father. Killed in Trench Collapse
I am Brenda’s Uncle D and can personally affirm to the loving person Jason was to his fiance Brenda and a wonderful father to thier children. When we came together for family events I saw firsthand the love for Brenda and his children. This man had a heart of gold, always trying to help those in need and demonstrated a true love for Brenda and his children, that one so rarely encounters.
Jason and Brenda like many other folks out there were cherishing their time together as a family, battling health issues but never married. They did what they could to get by each week. There is no life insurance for her or the kids. Nor, is there some big law suit opportunity for her, since they never were married. This was just a job for him to pick up a few extra dollars.
Brenda has been down with her luck because of health issues from complications with her pregnancy from 2yrs ago and other medical conditions going on for a very long time. Although, her health issues are not life threatening, they do make it almost impossible for her to obtain employment at this time. Today she is barely holding it together, as she deals with this tragedy and the circus of events.
How, would you like to be finding out that the love of your life was just killed in a horrific accident, while media trucks are parked just outside your house looking for a glimpse of the family or who knows what.
My niece Brenda is a very proud, shy and private individual who would never ask for help or share her problems with others. She was not very happy when I told her I wanted to do a “Go Fund Me Page” and adamant I not use a picture of her children to have out there on the internet forever. However, I know the baby needs diapers and her older special needs child is going to be a handful, especially without his loving father around. I explained to her for the love of their children, she desperately needs the financial help of others who share her pain and sorrow and want to help.
So here I go with no picture of the kids, per her request, and ask those who feel it within their heart. PLEASE HELP this unwed, unemployed, widowed mother of two children whose family was barley staying above water before this tragedy, not to drown.
This unbelievable tragedy of losing your soulmate, the children’s father and income to support the kids, now gone in a second, is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
I know that Jason's number one wish would have been to have his family not suffer from his death. I hope with the famlies support and folks like you we can make this happen for his fiancee and thier children.
This page provides funds only to support Jason’s soulmate Brenda Wend and their 2 young children as they recover from the devastating emotional and financial loss, Jason will no longer provide them.
God Bless all those who provide help and prayers in this time of need to Jason’s family.
May God bless the loving and compassionate soul of Jason Holmes and let eternal rest and peace be bestowed upon him, in this we pray. Amen
After Death
Thank You,
Uncle D
