Shiva needs prolapse surgery
Donation protected
My husband Fran feeds a colony of cats, on West 3rd St. between Highland Ave. and Hayes St. in Chester, PA, about 4 blocks from where he works. It is the same block as KSJ's Bakery for anyone familiar with the area.
Thursday, August 9th a kitten, we call Shiva, came towards him as he was feeding the other cats. Shiva had a prolapse that was two inches long protruding from his rectum.
Fran was able to pick up Shiva and took him to our vet Rose DiLeva from Animal Wellness Center (http://www.altpetdoc.com/) in Chadds Ford, Pa. The estimated cost for the surgery and on-going care is about $1,200 dollars.
Shiva spent a day and a half at the vet for treatment and observation were he was prescribed four different medications. Additionally, there has to be follow up care from the vet.
Shiva is currently at our home where he will stay for about a week before he goes back to the vet. Despite all the needles and handling he never scratched anyone.
Once he has recovered we intend to surrender him to an animal rescue / sanctuary organization and get him adopted to a loving family.
He is very sweet and mild mannered considering he came from a feral community.
My husband and I are very grateful for your generous donation to help Shiva get back to health and give him the opportunity to a happy life.
