Kiya's Medical and Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Family and Friends, a lot of you all know the tragedy that befell our family on May 22nd 2017. Our family appreciates all of the prayers, well wishes and the outpouring of love we have recieved for our baby sister! We are now asking for any donations you may be able to help us with during this time!
Many of you know my baby sister. She is 23, outgoing, funny, loud, gorgeous, and was expecting her first child (a baby boy that we lost due to the domestic violence she was eduring). On Monday May 22nd 2017, Mikiya was shot twice in her head as a result from this same domestic violence. If it had not been for a close family friend present at the time of the shooting, we would have lost our baby sister. Her injuries sustained were extensive. She survived a 4 hour brain surgery in which the bullets and bone fragments were removed as well as her frontal skull bone. Since then, she has also undergone three resulting surgeries as well; the next upcoming surgery to replace her skull bones is scheduled for a month from now, pending on her healing.
Mikiya is currently in critical but stable condition. Her recovery has been tedious and slow but we are so blessed to say our baby sister survived. We are now in need of more prayers and monetary help! At this time Mikiya can not talk. We are in need of funding to help with speech therapy, physical therapy, and an in home nurse to help aid in her recovery. Anything anyone can do to help our family, will be greatly appreciated; as you guys can imagine, the bills are mounting alarmingly fast. And the care she will need to fully heal will be very costly as well and urgently needed.
Again we appreciate the prayers we have recieved. Every single one of them counts and we are believing for a miracle.
Our sincerest thanks from her sisters and mother.
