Shoulders the film by Chanel Dupree

From the brilliant mind of Chanel Dupree, I give you “Shoulders”, a story of sisterhood created through love and shared trauma.
Proving that sometimes blood isn’t thicker than water and your truest family may not be the people who bore you but the sister you made along the way who will always be your home.
Monica’s mother:
A woman scorned with no ability to love her daughter, much less herself. Portrayed by Samantha Lorient, who’s passion for this project has helped propel this role to new heights. She will leave the audience wondering what story of torment her character may have to tell herself.
Monica, on the search to finding her home. A woman crying out for the love of a person who cannot love in return. Her cry for love though is answered by her best friend Jade who has been her ride or die from the beginning.
Portrayed by Mahlaney Wilson, who’s study of the performing arts has created an amazing perception of the character and elevated the role.
Jade;sister, friend ,home. Best friend and confidant of Monica. Bound by their similar trauma and Monica’s light in the darkness.Portrayed by TanyaMaria, has brought out a strength and playful side in the character. She has made Jade a lovable and relatable character in this movie.
Producer's Notes:
I had the best experience working on this project. It was an honor and privilege to work with an amazing group of beautiful & strong black women who have all worked together and have done their part to make this film possible.
I would especially like to thank our writer and director Chanel Dupree for thinking of me for this project. It has been an enjoyable experience and it has reminded me of what a joy it is to be apart of and around a creative space.
The $1000 goal is for equipment, travel fees, submission fees, accommodate cast and crew.
Thank you so much!!
