Journey to the Olympic Trials
Donation protected
In less than one year, I went from being a college basketball player to running my first year of college track & field and competing at the NCAA Championships and USA Track & Field Championships where I finished 28th.
I am training full time, 6-7 days a week, in order to achieve my goal for 2016, which is qualifying in the 400m for the:
2016 Olympic Trials – Eugene, Oregon (July 1st-10th)
2016 Olympic Games - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Coming off of a successful first year of running track, I recently became a member of the High Performance West team. I am continuing to train in Portland, Oregon and pursue my Olympic Goal, coached by Chad Colwell, I improved my personal best multiple times to 46.61 in one year.
In addition to training full time, I also work two part-time jobs, where I aim to inspire young people to pursue their dreams, as a Tutor/Student Advisor at Parkrose High School and a volunteer coach at the University of Portland. Despite the financial, emotional, and physical challenges, with the hard work and dedication I look forward to being on the track in Rio this summer.
I am grateful for the friends, family, teammates, and coaches who have supported me along the way and I’m hoping you will join this community of support that will be essential in getting me to the Olympic Trials in Rio.
