Krista's Cancer Battle

Krista was diagnosed with uterine cancer in the spring of 2014. She bravely endured several months of chemotherapy, which was followed by a major surgery at the end of 2014. Krista responded well to treatment and maintained an extremely positive attitude. Unfortunately, Krista learned in late May that the cancer had returned and was effecting areas in her abdomen. Krista's cancer doctor in Louisville believed there was nothing more that she could do. However, Krista has amazed us all with her strength, courage and gradual improvement. Krista is taking steps to obtain a second opinion from the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Due to Krista's current struggles with her health, she is no longer able to work. Krista has applied for early retirement and disability benefits through her employer, however, the process can take several months to complete. In the meantime, Krista will have no source of income nor health insurance benefits.

Krista and her family would benefit greatly from any financial assistance during this difficult time. All funds raised will be used to toward Krista's monthly housing expenses and COBRA insurance premiums. It is also hoped that enough funding can be raised to assist with Krista's travel expenses to Texas to be evaluated at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
