Josie Purvis was born to Hilde Deen and Sam Inman. She has lived in the Metropolis area most of her life. Josie is a hard-working woman who has never been afraid to do anything. She has endeavored many types of jobs and skilled at a wide variety of tasks. From flying airplanes, semi-driving, tow-boat cooking, being a florist and a waitress, she has achieved many titles. Josie has been a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and an aunt to her loved ones. She is a strong woman but its time for her to get some rest and relaxation. We are hoping with the help of others to get her exactly what she needs. She has been diagnosed with lung cancer a week ago. We know that it is very aggressive and terminal. She also has pneumonia that is not getting any better. Josie has been sent home with hospice to let nature run its course, and where she can be in the comfort of family and friends with peace. The family has been asked to prepare for her departure. Her hospital stay was short due to having to pay out of pocket for care that her insurance would not cover as well as no insurance to cover funeral expenses either. Funds are needed for cremation, funeral services, and to reunite her with her father and son in Kansas. These are her last wishes. She has helped many people in her life so we hope to do the same for her. Her sister Elizabeth Reddick will be in charge of all funds. THANK YOU.
