Kumar Jayasuriya Memorial Fund
Donation protected
I am Yasantha Rajakarunanayake, a family friend of Kumar Jayasuriya and the family, wife Maheshika, daughters Melissa and Saisha. I live in San Ramon, California in the same city as the Jayasuriya family and even attend same church as them, St Joan of Arc. This is a memorial fund for charity in honor of our friend Kumar who passed away last sunday. All money raised will be provided to Jayasuriya family for additional funeral expenses and family support during this difficult time of need.
Kumar was the main bread winner but now it will be a difficult period of adjustment for the family without him and its up to us friends to buffer this. I am organizing this on behalf of California Srilankan community. We thank you for your generosity. May god bless you! For me Kumar was a good friend, and one of the nicest guys I have known. With Kumar’s sudden passing away, we are all reminded of the uncertainity of life, and that we are all just one catastrophe away from our own demise. Buddha’s last words were ‘All things in the world are changeable and they are impermanent.’ How true! However don't forget that each of us can also make a difference.
It is our plan to make funds available to the family for any expenses related to the funeral, as well as family support for next 12 months. We have setup Ms Melissa Jayasuriya (22 year old daughter of the family) as the beneficiary to deposit the funds directly into her account. She will provide the needful for the family and mom Maheshika and her sister Saisha. Already over $45,000 has been provided to the family from this fund. We plan to finish all fundraising activities by middle of May 2019. Thank you!
