IEP Violation Lawsuit

Donation protected
Ian Hoy was hit by a car at the age of 7, and not expected to recover.  He has fought hard and after 5 years of daily therapy his Traumatic brain Injury has left a left side weakness and deficits with memory, processing speeds, and organizational skills.  He has come a long way.  He has worked hard to be back at grade level with his peers but needs a little extra help in remembering what needs to be done for homework, as well as having correct information to study guides.
His IEP (individual education program) asks that the teachers remind him of assignments or have him fill in "no homework" at the end of class and send home correct information to study fromfor tests.  The teachers were having trouble complying, so the school put in place a teacher to check Ian out at the end of the day to be certain this was done.
A year later, several complaints filed with the Department of Education (finding in our favor and asking the school to comply), many meetings, many tears and frustrations (how hard is it to make sure a child's homework is correct before asking them to study from it for a test the next day), and many times begging someone to hold these teachers accountable we are told "the system is broken", "it will always be like this", "just change schools", or "no one will take on the school district, because no one wants to pay the attourneys fees"....we decided it will never change unless someone fights.
We want our son, and special needs children everywhere to have the same chance to an education as their peers.  My son is not incapable of learning, in fact, when tested it was discovered that he is above grade level if his IEP is followed.
We are asking for your help to pay attourney fees.  The retainer alone is $3000.
With our continued medical bills for therapy and doctors visits, we can not take this on ourselves.  Please help us fight this fight for all disabled children.  It's time someone speaks out and does something about it.
