Kyle Simons' Lymphoma Recovery Fund

Kyle Simons has devoted his time, energy, and selfless heart to give back to others through his profession as a licensed clinical social worker and now it is time that we give back to him. For years, Kyle has provided intensive mental health and substance abuse treatment to adolescents, young adults and adults.  Kyle was preparing to start a new chapter of his professional journey however, something didn’t feel right.  Kyle felt himself drained of energy, and experiencing a lot of abdominal discomfort.  For months doctor’s said it was acid reflux, gastritis, and possibly irritable bowel.  Over-the-counter and prescription antacids weren’t doing the job; something just didn’t feel right.  Kyle pushed through it all, not allowing his discomfort to get in the way of helping his clients.  It wasn’t until Kyle noticed some seriously alarming changes in his bowels and a yellowing of his eyes that he decided to take a trip to the emergency department.  After hours of waiting, an ultrasound, and a CT scan later, Kyle heard words “We found a mass the size of a golf ball near your pancreas and gallbladder.  It could be nothing, or it could be lymphoma.”  Following a series of biopsy’s and other procedures to treat the obstruction, Kyle was diagnosed with a high-grade B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

 Kyle passions are yoga, live music, baking, travel, and spending time with his family and friends. Cancer has temporarily put Kyle's plans to continue helping others on pause while he receives intensive chemotherapy, requiring inpatient hospitalization, to battle this cancer. Kyle needs our support now, more than ever, on his journey to recovery and wellness! Kyle’s goal is to beat this cancer and get back to enjoying life with his family, friends, and most importantly getting back to his clients!
