Kyle O'Donovan Memorial

Donation protected
Firstly we would like to thank everyone for all the love, kind words and gestures of support through what has been a traumatic event. As a family, we have decided to set up a tribute/donation/fund in Kyle’s name.  We have chosen the amount of £1452 as Kyle passed at 1452 on Tuesday 10th July and this is also the time we are launching this page one week on however we would love to smash this target.

The Air Ambulance service (who survive on donations) who tended to Kyle on the day, lifted him from Brands Hatch to Kings College Hospital London in 8 minutes. Without this service and the medics whom were present at the track, we would have been visiting Kyle at a very different place. Instead we were able to spend 2-3 days with him, this allowed family and friends to fly over from America and Ireland and drive for up to 6 hours to say their goodbyes.

Along with the Air Ambulance we would like to donate directly to the Frank Stansil Critical Care Unit at Kings. The care that Kyle received was unparalleled. The nurses and doctors kept Kyle breathing and treated him with the upmost love, respect and dignity until we said goodbye.  They answered any questions we had with kindness and compassion, and we can’t thank them enough, but maybe this could help.

We have spoken to the ward and we can decide exactly what to do with any money donated, for now we would like to renovate the family room, which was our home for the days we were there. Many of us didn’t leave at all, we slept on floors, sofas and took the place over. It would be amazing if we could make it more comfortable for other families going through what we went through - of which there are many.

For any of you that would like to donate I will leave the link below. So many people have said to us “If there is anything we can do please let us know”. By donating the money you would have spent on flowers for us or on a drink for Kyle this would mean more too us than anything. No amount is too small. It would just be great for us to channel all of our energy and love into something worthwhile. And let’s face it, Kyle would love to have his name on something permanent.

Chloe could not have put it any better - Anyone that played a part in trying to save Kyle’s life deserves the world. And something like this is the least we can do.

Thank you so much
