Help Frenchtown FF/EMT Kyle Rauch

Donation protected
Kyle Rauch is a Volunteer Resident  Firefighter for Frenchtown Rural Fire District.  Firefighter Rauch was responding to a series of accidents west of Tarkio involving 5 semi trucks.  Kyle and his crew were assigned to extrication of one of the semi truck drivers and provide traffic control when he slipped on black ice and fell off the bridge deck, falling approximately 40 feet and rolling down the embankment.  A low angle rescue was established to get Kyle up the steep embankment.  Kyle suffered traumatic injuries due to the fall and was taken by ambulance to a Missoula hospital..  Kyle underwent a 3-4 hour surgery  to repair a broken leg.  He is in good spirits and is recovering in the hospital.  He is anticipated to be release soon from the hospital and has a long road to recovery.  His medical expenses are covered under workers' compensation but he and his family from out of town will have travel expenses and other expenses not covered by workers comp.  The outpouring of support for Kyle, his family and Frenchtown Rural Fire District has been amazing and appreciated.
