ELL One Step From World Series
It's America... Baseball, Hot Dogs and Apple Pie
The Evangeline Little League (ELL) Senior Boys All-Star Team has won the 2017 Louisiana Senior Boys State Championship Tournament! With this win the team travels to Seguin, Texas to represent Cajun Country and the State of Louisiana to compete in the Senior League Baseball Southwest Regional Tournament on July 21 through 27. This is such a great accomplishment for this team!!
(ELL) Senior Boys All-Star Team competed in several tournaments recently to get to this point. In each tournament they rallied to win in the latter innings showing their true courage, determination and hard work to come from behind to win. It’s an amazing journey that any spectator will not soon forget.
In the Louisiana State Tournament ELL came from behind in one game with a score of 2 to 8 in the 4th inning to win at 14 to 8 in the 7th. In the final game of the tourney ELL came from behind with a score of 3 to 9 in the top of the 7th to win the championship at 10 to 9 in the final play of the 7th .
This will be great for the State of Louisiana and the whole Southwest! Our young men will be there representing proudly!
Funds will be used to help the 11 team members and their loved ones with travel expenses, lodging, meals and other costs associated with such an effort.
Time is of the essence. We need to leave Thursday July 20th, 2017 to be on the field at our scheduled start time.
