Lafayette College Dog House

As part of Lafayette College's student run programs, the Dog House trains young service dogs who will hopefully work as alert dogs for Canine Partners for Life (CPL), based out of Cochranville, Pennsylvania. As part of this program, students are responsible for paying for varying aspects of the dog's care like food, toys, and unforeseen vet visits. These dogs will help people with disabilities and give them a more independent, secure, and confident life. This is the second year of the Dog House and the partnership between Lafayette and CPL. Ten students have had the opportunity to work with three service dogs last year who have now moved on to more advanced training. The house is working with two new dogs this semester who are continuing their second year of basic training. This has been a wonderful experience here at Lafayette training and raising awareness of service dogs around campus. As college students, one of our goals is to raise money to be able to provide the best care possible for our dogs so that we can continue this program in the years to come. Thank you in advance for your contribution!
