Upon taking her home we decided to find out more about this murmur. After visits to the vet and cardiologist, we find that she has a PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus). This is a congenital heart defect that causes too much blood to pump into the heart. With surgery, she can be saved! Without surgery, the left side of her heart will become enlarged and she will go into heart failure.
Now we want to save Lala and want to give her the longest life she can give. Look at this face, how can we not?! She deserves this fighting chance!
We have a very short window for surgery in order to have a successful recovery. Any help you can provide, including sharing our story, advice, links to resources and of course funds, is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for reading!
