THIS APPEAL IS NOW CLOSED. WE ARE INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL FOR THE HUGE SUPPORT WHICH WE RECEIVED FROM ALL OUR DONORS IN THE STRUGGLE TO GET BREXIT DONE.
FOR INFORMATION ABOUT OR TO SUPPORT OUR ONGOING WORK AFTER BREXIT, PLEASE SEE OUR WEBSITE AT: www.lawyersforbritain.org
We are a group of lawyers, legal academics, retired judges and constitutional specialists who came together to campaign for a Leave vote in the 2016 referendum. After the country voted to leave the European Union , we were joined by many lawyers who supported Remain but wished to work constructively to make sure the exit process is carried out in the best interests of the United Kingdom.
We formally left the EU in January 2020 but are still within the scope of EU laws until the transition period ends on 31 December. After that, it is important that any arrangements with the EU respect the UK's independence and sovereignty and leave us free of obligations which would prevent the UK from maximsing our post-Brexit opportunities.
We are an all-volunteer group and are putting our time into a range of legal projects which are vital to recovering control of our laws, our economy and our borders.
