Who Is Leonard Orr?

     Leonard Orr is the discoverer and founder of the worldwide Rebirthing Breathwork movement. As a result of spontaneous rebirthing experiences, from 1962 to 1975, he discovered and developed the technique known as ‘connected breathing’, where the inhale and exhale are merged with no pause in between. This is the natural breathing rhythm of babies, animals, and most young children. This technique is used today in hundreds of various forms of breathing styles.

    Rebirthing Breathwork, as taught by Leonard Orr, is the original form, which is being practiced widely today by thousands of professional Breathworkers. It is estimated that more than 10 million people around the globe have experienced the healing power of Rebirthing Breathwork as a result of receiving at least 10 high quality individual completed energy cycles with a high quality Rebirther.

     Leonard is considered as one of the originating pioneers of the New Age movement and Prosperity Consciousness. He has devoted over 40 years of his life to spreading his ideas and the healing power of Rebirthing Breathwork around the globe, covering six continents and circling the globe dozens of times. He has authored over 20 books in more than a dozen languages.

     He is famous not only for discovering Rebirthing Breathwork, but for also defining the 11 Biggies of Human Trauma, which are birth trauma, parental disapproval syndrome, personal lie & specific negatives, school trauma, past life karma, the unconscious death urge, religion trauma, senility, repression of the feminine, world savior syndrome and physical abuse & sexual abuse trauma.

     In 1975, he founded Rebirth International (RBI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to uniting breathworkers around the world and improving the quality of Rebirthing Breathwork, as well as teaching the practical methods to personal mastery of body, mind, and spirit.

     Leonard is a lifelong student of self mastery, body mastery, and is a leading pioneer in the field of human potential and the Physical Immortality movement. Over his years of study and exploration, Leonard has met over seven immortals, including: Babaji, Deva Raha Baba, Bhartriji, Gopichand, Ram, Sita.

     From 1977 to 1984 Leonard visited and worked closely with Shri Mahavatar Babaji, visiting him every year. Babaji taught him the principles of Spiritual Purification and self mastery with the practices of earth, air, water, and fire. Babaji also told Leonard that Rebirthing Breathwork, including spiritual purification with the elements, was the new yoga for liberation and self mastery, appropriate for our present civilization.
