Since April Black Lives Matter Sacramento has been holding barbecues at the DA's office, taking up space and feeding the community three days per week and vowing not to stop until charges are filed against the officers who murdered #StephonClark.
DA Schubert has not filed charges against even a single officer involved in the 22 "officer involved shootings" and "in custody deaths" since she took office and hasn't even completed her review of any of the 11 police murders that occurred in 2017.
These barbecues are DIRECT ACTION to hold DA Schubert accountable for her complicity in these deaths and to raise awareness that this is a problem that continues to go unaddressed.
The cost of food and supplies for this long-term action is approximately $800 per month and BLM Sacramento needs our help to sustain holding these barbecues.
This is an open ended fundraiser for this continuing need, and is in addition to the fundraising Black Lives Matter Sacramento does for all the work they do outside of these barbecues.
