LET"S PUT AMERICAN MOMS FIRST
Donation protected
Dear Friend,
We are raising money for a billboard campaign that demands paid maternity leave. You can be a part of a movement that will raise enough money for 1,000 billboards. We will strategically place these in the home states and districts of every Member of the U.S. Congress.
This is a grassroots movement. Don’t feel like you must be a big donor to have an impact. Any amount will be a huge help. We know you agree that this decision is difficult for moms. We are leading this endeavor because if we don’t, who will?
If you believe that the American Mom is an important part of nurturing the future of our country, please join us!
The United States is the only country in the developed world that does not require paid leave for new mothers.
Let’s take a minute to let that sink in.
We are considered the richest and most powerful nation on the face of the planet. Yet we cannot even allow your average mom the ability to stay home with her newborn baby.
In the United States, qualified mothers are granted 12 weeks of leave to care for their newborn. However, this leave is unpaid in most cases. Employers are under no obligation to offer paid maternity leave. This is considered a basic right in most of the developed world. Is this the type of country that you want to live in?
We Force American Families to Choose Work over Family!
The United States is the world’s only remaining superpower. We are more than happy to spend billions of dollars in unchecked foreign aid to countries halfway around the globe to improve the conditions of their citizens and yet our nation’s mothers must return to work and weaken our families. With a military budget that just skyrockets year after year for wars that most of us neither understand nor want, American families must choose work to keep food on the table, while Wall Street reports record profits.
When is Enough Enough?
There is a political circus going on in our country. Families like yours and ours are not invited to participate in the show. We have talking heads dominating the airwaves with images of our president side by side with porn stars. Regardless of your politics, is there any among us that think Kim Kardashian in the White House discussing policy with the president is a good idea?
Who is going to stand up for the American Mom? We know that middle-class families feel like we do, that the American Mom is the backbone of our country. When will she get the chance to talk about the injustice of choosing between caring for her family and the immediate need to return to the workplace to financially support her loved ones?
Won’t You Join Us?
We live in a representative democracy. We elect our government officials to look out for our best interests. Let’s take the media spotlight away from the salacious scandals and shine the light on the plight of The American Mom. The time to demand action is now!
If you believe that the American Mom is an important part of nurturing the future of our country, please join us!
Sincerely,
A middle-class family just like yours.
