4 yr old's Stolen Prosthetic Leg
Donation protected
I have set up this account for two very dear friends of ours, Frank Brenes and Amanda McFarland. Their son Liam, was born with Fatco Syndrome. A very rare disorder leaving Liam missing his fibula bone on his left leg. His right hand has two missing fingers with the other two fingers webbed together. Liam had his leg amputated just below the knee when he was a year old. He recently had surgery on his hand to help straighten and seperate his fingers. On Sunday, July 24th Frank and his sister had taken his 3 boys to Crystal Cove Beach for a family fun day. This was Liam's first trip to the beach and Frank had wished for nothing but a very memorable experience for his young son Liam and his twin boys Aiden and Conner.
While the family was exploring the tide pools, someone stole all of the families belongings to and include Liam's prosthetic leg and Aiden's eye glasses. I am asking for the community to come together to help Liam and his family with the expense of obtaining a new leg. Both parents will have to take multiple days out of work as well as traveling to and from Los Angeles for the doctor visits, fittings, molding, etc. This is going to be a very hefty expense to replace such an important and desperatly needed prosthetic.
As of now, it is undetermined whether or not Liam's insurance will cover any of the expenses of the prosthetic. Aiden will need a new pair of eye glasses as well. What we do know, is that this is going to be very expensive. All monies received will be going towards the expenses the family will incur due to this unconscionable act. If any money is leftover, it will be used for Liam for things he needs now & in the future such as a custom made glove for his right hand so he can play baseball with his peers and for him to also attend Camp No Limits. This is a camp that is geared towards children who are amputees and their families. Liam will also require further surgeries and these funds will be going towards those expenses as well.
For someone to have not only stolen property that was not there's but to also take a child's leg and eye glasses is simply devastating to these boys and their family.
What was Liam's response to all this? "That’s OK, Dad. I can put something really important on my Christmas list,” he said. “I can ask for a new leg."

Any help will be greatly appreciated for this wonderful family! Blessings to you all.
