LIFE SAVING Emergency Surgey for Jodie

Jodie is one of our own.  She and her family (sisters Beth and Liane) have welcomed and helped several fosters dogs adjust to their new lives.  Now Jodie needs OUR help.  Today she was attacted and seriously (as in life threatening) injured.  At the time of this post she has already been in surgery for 3+ hours  which has included a bowel resection.  This is a VERY serious injury for any dog but Jodie being a senior adds to the seriousness.

UPDATE:  8:31PM, 01/28 - She came through surgery. Next 24 hours or so are critical. She lost a foot or so of small intestine, they sutured muscles-and abdominal wall together as well as stitching her neck muscles together. High risk of infection. She is on prednisone to keep swelling down, antibiotics and pain meds.

UPDATE:  01/30 - It is with a very sad heart that this update is posted... 
Jodie's family received an early morning call yesterday from the Emergency Vet Ctr... they were in process of preforming  CPR on Jodie.  The heartbreaking decision was made at that time to allow Jodie to be at peace.  Her injuries were just too severe for her to pull through.
